Okay so, one day my dad, his girlfriend, her kids and I all went to some part of the Murray River outside of Albury. We all swam around for a bit and I decided I'd had enough so I got out, took my life jacket off (I needed it coz I couldn't swim) and munched on some food. While I was eating they all went over to a fallen tree to practise diving. I thought it was a good idea to get back in the water (without my life jacket ) and follow the bank over to where they all were. As I was tip toeing over to them I walked into a drop in the ground and I went underwater, when my feet touched the bottom I pushed as hard as I could and my head resurfaced and I took another breath and sunk back down into the water and repeat the process, I didn't have enough time to yell for help AND take a breath so I kept just bouncing in the same spot. One of dads' girlfriends' daughters eventually walked past and noticed me flailing in the water. I heard her scream for my dad. I few seconds later, but what seemed like minutes, my dad grabbed me from under the water and took me back to land.
That was the day I nearly drowned.
