What is the greatest thing about being single ?
I think people miss interpret what it means to be in a relationship, and from what I have seen for most of my life is that this idea of a soul mate that we put on such a high pedestal, is such a misconception. I think that most ‘lonely’ people feel depressed when they are ‘alone’ because most of main stream media and society has told us that is how we are meant to feel, and these ‘lonely’ people are so self-involved with loneliness that don’t see the real companionship they most likely have already, and could have if they took $ex out of the relationship equation, and just realize that the best relationship one can have is one where you are challenged by someone. It is thought that a relationship is a partnership full of compromise, but in my opinion compromising is a failing, it means you are two completely different people, who have to meet in the middle in order to be happy, and a relationship where you and your partner can’t be the true you is doomed to fail. So to get back to the question the best part about being single and not falling into this idea that I have to have to be depressed about being ‘lonely’ is I can see the people who really matter, while also seeing they that I can live a fulfilling life ‘alone’ and still have relationships that make me happy where I don’t have to compromise exists.
