I've had my cartilage piercing for 2 years and it's still sore and quite swollen at the back, help!
It might be dirty or slightly infected just clean it and if it still doesnt get better maybe limit the jewlery wearing (like take it out when your going to bed and stuff) or you might be reacting with the material that the bar is made out of so switch up to materials every once and a while :)

It all depends on how long you leave it on for so obviously the long you leave it on the more purple/silver it goes but if you have blonde hair and you just want it more ashy just use the toner in the shower after your shampoo and just leave it on for like 2-6 minutes :))
