Thoughts on essena quitting YouTube and social media in general?
If you know me personally, you know I am massive fan of Essena! She's been my biggest idol since I was 12 and I have looked up to her as a role model since, along with hundreds of thousands of other girls and boys. For three years, she has been the one that's helped me discover what veganism is and I honestly can't thank her enough, she's changed my life for the better. But it's not just mine that she's impacted - she has raised so much awareness for veganism and I would always support her mindful decisions. She helped me go make-up free to a lot of places and she really brought up my confidence, even though I don't know her personally. When she quit social media I was a bit distraught because I adore her, but I could kind of see it coming. Since she's been off Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube and Tumblr, she says she is finding her life so much better without the criticism and that she is obviously much happier without the worry of having hundreds of thousands of people looking up to her. She apparently feels more productive, and overall, I completely support her decision on deleting social media! I just loved how she raised so much awareness for veganism and the benefits, how she was so honest in her YouTube videos, how she gave off a vibe that always made me feel happy when she'd post on any form of media. But now she is on the news for "declaring war on social media", as she says it's caused a "brainwashed generation". She's right. Anyhoo, she's opened up a website (letsbegamechangers.com) and she now spreads the positive attitude of veganism and body image through there! Sorry I've written what comes close to a novel aha x

The definition for vegan is "a person who does not eat or use animal products", and that is what I want to be. The only reason I'm not at the moment is because my parents won't let me, but I am going vegetarian in a few months as that's all they'll let me do. It's better than nothing. I barely consume animal products, I've pretty much entirely cut out red meat and dairy, and occasionally eat chicken and fish because I have to. I'm just trying to raise awareness dude. And quite frankly, there isn't ONE single reason for anybody to not be vegan - we can all do it. And don't you dare say "because I like bacon too much". I suggest you educate yourself and watch a documentary, maybe search "Earthlings" on YouTube. It really opened my eyes.
