an Otaku is what anime fans use to call themselves especially when they KNOW a lot or are well educated in anime and manga as well as certain Japanese traditions and they keep it to a bare minimum. A weeabo is a person who just joined the culture of anime and consider Japanese culture superior to other cultures as well as they think they know everything about the anime when in literal sense they don't as well as when Otakus consider anime their life they show their love for it but then Weeabos become obsessed and take it over the top
