misconceptions , for example recently the hashtags #LikeAGirl and #BlackLivesMatter have been trending . these movements have been started to give power to people who have been oppressed for centuries . then the people who have NOT been oppressed do not understand this and #LikeABoy and #AllLivesMatter started . yes , all lives do matter etc but recent events , such as : the increasing participation in being a feminist and inequality and equity issues (yes , there is a difference between equality and equity) between men and women (such as wages/salaries) as well as police brutality and unjust rulings in court toward people of darker skin colours have inspired people to want to make a difference . there are people who have been oppressed for centuries , let them get the assistance they need .
