They filmed the whole thing and posted it on Youtube.
in terms of that particular video, while they are known to do these videos for publicity stunts, whether they filmed it or not, it would have still been a good act regardless. filming it just adds the bonus of highlighting to the public how much you can change a homeless persons life through your acts. I think that while the guys changed his life through all of the expensive gifts (and new teeth in the second video!!) they are still trying to put across a message that it doesn't matter the way in which you help the homeless or how much money you spend, you will still make their day and could change their life forever. while the publicity was obviously a big part of it because of how he highlighted how much money he spent on each occasion, the fact is that he changed someone's life and he's trying to convince others to do the same.
