can you tell us abt Malifer’s backstory? im so interested in the world of brutal heavens and i can’t wait for the comic!!
Yup! Malifer’s based of the mythology of the fallen angel, Azazel. He questioned the creation of man, saying that they will only cause bloodshed and confusion. For this he was cast out of heaven. Lucifer finds Malifer and suggests that they work together, but Malifer refuses. After all, Lucifer was the one causing the humans to be so violent. After Malifer refuses, Lucifer sends his two sons, Aadith and Valin, to torture Malifer and drain his magic so they may use it for their own evil.
Malifer escapes centuries later, and by then, his suspicions had become reality. Death, plague, war and famine had magnified on a global scale. Rather than fix it, Malifer bitterly decides to lead a group of angels to end humanity altogether. The first step he takes is finding Aadith and Valin again and giving them hell.
Only, now, Aadith and Valin were humans with no memories of ever hurting Malifer. Their names were now Vex and Andrew, the Marks brothers ?

I feel you. Try to find a basic outline for the arc of your story and stick to it, and write down pieces of the plot in chronollogical order. World building is important too.
How did everyone find out vex was bi? Did he tell them or fid they find out themselves ? What were their reactions?
Vex himself didn’t even realize he was bi until he was about 23. By then he was isolated with no family around but Andrew. At the time Andrew just wanted Vex to forgive him for the awful sht he’d done, so he didn’t have anything to say about Vex’s $exuality. Vex’s other friends easily accepted it, especially since most of them aren’t straight either ??
Wait for the canon story are Luna and Andrew together or is Luna with Adrien and Khan? (sorry I’m just real confused with some of the ships)
In Bina’s canon story Luna is with Andrew. Luna is with Adrian and Khan in other AU’s, but no longer in canon. I think.

So I was scrolling down your page and I saw this hilarious comic of vex catching reese and andrew making out and I always wondered what happened afterwards lol.
Oh I’m planning on redrawing that comic pretty soon. Reese was an actress and Vex was an actor, they were quite famous and had roles in their plays where they would dance, kiss, etc. And even after Vex caught her cheating with Andrew he was still forced to act those same parts with her. It got to the point where Vex eventually leaves Reese and quits acting, and not long after that Andrew gets the sht beaten out of him ??
Are there cute ships in Brutal Heavens? ;)) I know Reese was involved with Vex and Andrew before but after that do they just not do relationships at all?
YEAH! I mean they’re two hot sad guys it would s*ck if they had no actual love interests in canon lol. However Bina and I talked this morning and decided that since I already had most of the plot for Brutal Heavens written prior to meeting her, it would be lame of me to just sprinkle her characters in and call it a collaboration. Don’t be afraid to look at photo references. Backgrounds are often spatially complex and it’s hard to make it match the perspective of your character, so using guidelines and looking at tutorials is what I’d do. Also, making it contrast with the focal point or character in a drawing helps

Weeeell.... I listen to a LOT of music, not so much movies/shows, so I have singer claims but not voice actor claims lmao. Vex’s voice could be heard in a song like “By Now” by Marianas Trench. Andrew’s voice could be heard in “Sound of Madness” by Shinedown. And... honestly the songs accurately portray their personalities as well lol

It came from my head. Andrew’s had a lot of phases. He was originally bare faced with thin long brows, a lot more similar in appearance to Vex.

I plan to. Once Malifer meets Luz he decides to break the habit of sleeping around and becomes a loyal husband and father, even though he’s still got some screws loose. On occasions where Malifer and them split up, such as in Bina’s canon, he flies right back off his rocker and drinks, parties, sleeps around and leaves a trail of bodies behind while he’s at it ??

Make sure that your image is large enough, above 1000 pixels hopefully. Also make sure that you DON’T zoom in on the picture using the instagram app, it makes it blurry no matter how high the resolution is. If you want it cropped or zoomed in, you’ll have to crop it in the camera album and then use that full cropped image when you post. If that makes sense??

Malifer’s comfort zone is sleeping around and getting btches, and Luz actually starts out as his enemy during a war at the beginning of a story, so it takes him a whiiiile before he realizes he loves her. He’s an unstable evil little man and Luz helps keep him grounded

Just looking up real life pictures of what I wanna learn and drawing them is what I did. Even simple sketches make a difference. Quickposes.com is my go to site, it has a library of refs. (And just.... really, embrace drawing nudity. People that are too scared to will never gain a full understanding.)

Oh, Malifer fights a looot. He has a particular hatred for the Marks brothers, Reese, and Luceius, since they have all treated him /horribly/ in the past (although the Marks brothers mistreated him BEFORE they became human and lost their memories... which I forgot to mention). Malifer is an archangel in canon and his powers vary throughout BH, but after he escapes hell he has a tendency to use umbrakinesis the most. He also shiftshapes and assumes multiple identities on Earth in order to gain information, trust and authority. Or sometimes he shifts into a nightmarish wraith just to scare the sht out of people. Evil boy.

I have! They were called “flipnote” animations, back when I was 11. I made them a lot and they got pretty popular on a website called hatena. Because I used to animate so much I still fantasize about making animations about BH, but I doubt it’ll ever be an animated series.

When did you start having a passion for drawing and designing characters/worlds/stories
I’ve had characters since I was eight, when the Spore game was released. My characters were dragons, and I always imagined them singing along to the music I listened to. I was in seventh or eighth grade when I actually built detailed stories and worlds to go with my characters. I’ve made many failed attempts at comics for them (the farthest I’ve gotten was 17 pages), which is why even today I fear that if I tried starting another I would never finish it.

Malifer is quite a demiromantic. He’s only into one night stands until he manages to actually catch feelings for someone. In which case he’s EXTREMELY loyal and caring. Downsides are, that person really has to be able to put up with his overdramatic, screwball, flippant personality. Because he does nnnnooot handle breakups well. (Also THANK YOU ???)

Yeah, I guess what Bina and I do would be considered roleplay with our oc’s. It’s how we write our AU’s, canon stories etc. and thank you!!

So Andrew and Vex are part spanish?
They’re fully Spanish in canon. They grew up in Spain with royal hispanic parents in the late 1700’s/early 1800’s

Well I made most of these characters when I was like 16... aaand I had no clue about name origins. I would just come up with names and say “oooh that sounds cool!!” Which is why the Marks’ brothers names literally go from plain old “ANDREW” to fcking “VEX” which, even in english. means “distress”. Idk what I was thinking but I’m too attached now to change them ?? Luceius has SOME purpose though, it’s got a similar sound with “Lucifer”, and Luceius is the devil in Brutal Heavens.

1. I drew a bunch of weird dinos and aliens based on documentaries my bro and I watched when I was like... 4 or 5. Google “alien planet 2005” :’)
2. I like how it’s coming along but, it still needs more work.
3. Oh yeah. Vetyyr, akreon, yuumei and other amazing artists really motivate me to keep practicing.
4. I love violets!!
5 & 6. I will definitely try and make a decent career out of art when I’m older, but I’m not going to college for it. In case art doesn’t get me far, I’m also aiming for a degree in nursing.

I’m new, but very confused. You talk about stories and adventures and stuff your character will do or have done. Was this all in a comic, animation, or did you just make this out of your wonderful head?

What character do you really feel a personal connection to?
Heck... a lotta them. Particularly Andrew. Some dark stuff’s happened in my life but honestly what good is telling people about it? I know some people have been through much worse. I shouldn’t complain. Same thing for Andrew. We both s*ck at expressing our pasts, emotions and insecurities because we don’t think they’re important, we’re just happy with what we’ve got and try to live in the here and now ???
