My parents are divorced, so my mom and my stepdad we're super chilled about it. I also had a conversation with all of my parents about interracial relationships before I ever dated anyone from a different race. My dad however did not respond well at all. But I have to say that we have come a long way from him believing it’s a sin to realize that it's not but it's just not ”his preference”. My parents know I love them and that I honor them but that I won't base who I marry one day on their preference. I have also come to believe that after then initial shock my dad might have if I come home with a guy from another race or culture that he has the capacity to accept and love the person once he gets to know them.
