well, you see it all has a logical answer. when you skate on thin ice the friction causes the ice to break and you fall into freezing water, rapidly you get out and because you dont want to die of hypothermia you want to heat up, this instinct tell you to find something warm. as humans have developes their brain they have discovered that hot water heats up the body the fastest without harming it. thus from skating on thin ice you get into hot water
