Skate 2 or Skate 3?
Ok let me settle this damn debate right here and now. I’ve been playing skate three for 7 years and skate 2 for like 9 years. Skate 1 started off strong with an incredible map. No load zones. No bullsht. But the fixed filler angle camera gives you motion sickness, the vert skating is lacking and the u can’t get off your board.
Skate 2 improved upon this by adding that feature as well the ability to change the camera angle AND keeping the world map OPEN. Perfect game but where it accels in the new sht, it fails as a community game. Which is where skate 3 comes in.
Skate 3 is criticized fairly for having a smaller load zone map and I agree with that. But it did a lot of things right. The vert skating was miles ahead on hardcore mode, the challenges felt more fun, and the DLC was epic. Where skate 3 really wins however is with the community play. You could now play online with friends in lobbies, upload your created skateparks that other people could download, AND it felt good tighter to play. There was infinite replay ability with the share map system alone. That is until EA shut the servers down like 3 years ago. If I could, I would stream all the skate games for a living bc I love them dearly.
