Why are you so obsessive about Trivium?
Well anonymous question asker, this is gonna be a long one hahaha :P. I suppose I'll start by saying that I'm so "obsessive" about them because no other band has ever written a song that sends chills down my spine literally every time I listen to it. It doesn't make a difference whether it's a song that was released a few days ago or one I listened to years ago when I first discovered the band. The chill is always there. Because every time I listen to one of their songs it feels like I'm discovering it for the first time all over again. Because they write lyrics that have made me feel real emotions (the excellent guitar definitely doesn't hurt in these sections either). Apart from like two other songs in the history of music Trivium is the only band that has ever written a song that caused me to cry. But the emotions go both ways, they have written songs that have made me feel something that is almost indescribable... Empowerment is honestly the best I can do right now and that really doesn't even scratch the surface of this feeling. The songs that give me the aforementioned feeling make me feel (this is gonna sound tacky) at one with the world and for the 4-5 minute duration of the song I almost feel as though I can do anything. I know this sounds cliched and pretty fcking lame but Trivium is what has gotten me through some of the most difficult times in my life. Their music is really the only thing I can throw all of my anger, sadness and confusion at and come out the other end (for the most part) sane. I guess that answers the question just about as well as I can manage without writing an essay (whoops). Hopefully this satisfies you and anyone else who is wondering about this.
