OH MY GOD okay this is a bit complicated and it's gonna be on my weebly but I haven't typed it yet there, so briefly: there's 2 worlds. One is our Earth: it's a bit more in the future with just slight alterations, so it's a more advanced society. Some examples are that you can alter the genes of a fetus to later produce a baby that looks how you want. There are limitations to it so all that can be altered is hair color and eye color (and you can get some absurd mashups like naturally pink hair, etc). Also anoyher example is that robotics are a huge part in society especially for the more rich but other than that, everything's p normal. MAIN difference tho is that every country is developed (tho some more than others). Caithen is from Earth. The OTHER world is a faux Earth. A synthetic planet made years years back. It stays in place in space through the use of electromagnets and has a steam generator as a core. The individuals that live here are all in developING countries. It's countries are divided same as Earth and they're owned by Earth (so like Earth USA owns faux Earth USA. Earth China owns faux Earth China, etc). They're existence isn't known to the general public of Earth bc its a private matter. Depending on the country, some are worst some are better, but all in all, the people living in these countries are meant to serve and provide for their Earth counterpart countries and each have their own individual laws. Though, mainly because the surveillance isn't tight in most countries, they all deal with their own matters (domestic and foreign) secretly/independent of Earth. Ajax (Minh Ly and Cleo) are from this faux Earth. Caithen later ends up there, but he grew up on earth for the first 22-24 years of his life.
aw I really appreciate the interest! I have a weebly set up ( skeths.weebly.com ) that you can go on and read about my characters and there are separate tabs so you can read up on which you are more interested in! Quite honestly, so far I only have the Caithen tab done (that includes his siblings) and have WAY MORE to type out, but you can take a look at what I have so far :) bc I already have Caithen info there, my other main ocs are Ajax, Cleo and Minh Ly so I'll tell you about them here! Ajax is Caithen's flatmate (Caithen moved in with him) and 3 years after meeting they date. He's a really lazy and artistic guy (art is his hobby). He doesn't go to work, he always just stays home and does whatever. He's a recovering alcoholic and starts going out more to help his healing/recovery process and that's when he becomes more engaged in the story. Cleo is a simple gal, she's Minh Ly's lover. She's introverted but not necessarily shy either. She likes spending her time with friends and is very close to her family. Some tragedy often happens in her family tho ;^( She and Minh Ly support Ajax financially a lot because he's their best friend. Minh Ly is super close to her father. She checks up on Ajax frequently but other than spending time with him, she often goes to her dad's workshop to help him out. Quite honestly the only person you will ever meet that likes costumer service, she likes engaging with customers but that's probabky bc everyone that comes in are locals that she knows lol. I won't really go into the story/universe bc this is getting to long but that's a small intro! Again, thanks for the interest :)
WAAAHH BRO????!!!! THANK YOU!!!!?!??! Glad you're back to drawing, breaks are always good, but art brings me so much joy and I hope it does to you too, I'm HONORED that my art was able to inspire/motivate you to get back to drawing oh my god, thank you, really
dude!! you can message me whenever you want, truthfully I'm not really a texter but that's with strangers only, I never ever mind my friends sending me a message and dropping by to say hello and talk
WAAH thank you for asking for my boy Caithen, here's ONE fact: he's my favorite character!!!!!
Alright other than the facts lying around my account I'm gonna say stuff that isn't really important and I haven't said, stuff more about him himself in general!!
> despite being really closed off from others and being introverted and keeping to himself, he really likes social events? Like just seeing people live their lives, cus he subconsciously lives through them vicariously. Like when he was a kid and his parents would drag him and his brother to places, he really enjoyed it even tho he'd stick like glue to his family and not talk to anyone. Also this is why he REALLY likes getting into new shows and stuff, cus he lives through the characters. Weird enough tho, he doesn't like reading books. He's not really imaginative and thinks he's not smart enough to read books and really understand them (he has self-confidence issues in everything regarding his smarts, to appearance, etc).
> he's got an English accent. I know there are different dialects so like......don't ask me which, basically how every Brit on American TV is depicted as, yeah he's got that accent. Like fckin uhhh, Simon Cowell' s accent maybe (NOT HIS VOICE THO....NO!!!!!)
>very soft spoken guy, he's got a raspy and deep voice, not super deep either but you can hear it in his voice that he's already gone through puberty lol
> he wore a yamaka/kippah a lot as a kid til someone said it was weird, during reception years (frankly, they didn't mean it to be insulting they just took note that nobody else wore it in their class) but he took it hard and REFUSED to put it on ever again and his parents had to accept it because he would start BAWLING when he had to use it in public.
> he fidgets with his fingers a lot. Stress balls actually help him a bit to calm his nerves.
> always uses long sleeve clothing no matter if it's hot outside and will get heatstroke.
> doesn't like the beach/pool/any form of swimming. He used to enjoy it but with his self-esteem issues and his psoriasis flaring if he's in the sun for a long time, he hates it now.
> dude always styles his hair......if you thought that quiff was natural, you're a fool.
> he cuts his own hair and he does a pretty good job, you can't really tell he cuts it himself since it looks decent
> he got rough hands. He doesn't do any hardworking stuff to get them but when he was younger, his brother would drag him outside to play and Caithen always found himself getting hurt somehow. (Callum is the devil he actually set up Caithen everytime and thought it was funny seeing him fall).
> He's too scared of everything yet he somehow managed to get his license at 18 (parents really pushed him on getting it, that's the ONLY reason he has it)
> bday is September 22 (he's a virgo/libra cusp)!!!
OKAY THAT'S ENOUGH!!!!! I could go on about this sweet boy for ages
honestly dude? I got the name sketh from accidentally mistyping sketch so same
do you hear that? That's the sound of me crying, thank you sm TTwTT
firstly, thank you so much bud!!!!!!! I will go by the most basic advice first in saying that doing figure studies is helpful! (resources like 'croquis cafe' which is what I've used before, and 'pixelovely', etc) but those are the more recent methods and approaches I have been taking! (also drawing ppl irl like when you're at school or at a mall or something can be good too) but in regards to what I did before figure studies is just, draw constantly? Guess that's not the advice people like to hear but it's true! Even looking at other people's art is practicing in it's own way! If there's something you don't like or want to improve on when drawing bodies/anatomy (for this example lets say u want to get better at legs) when you're scrolling through Insta, pay attention to how your fave artists draw legs and try and pick up some pointers and figure out what the difference is between how u draw them and how they draw it to see if you can try and improve yourself!!! like if they draw knees a certain way, try seeing if you can manage to fit that in your style! also with comics, I have a very SLOPPY method, I just draw without any planning before hand but for actual advice, Think about the dialogue and what expressions/movements you want your characters making when saying that line. Then try figuring out how big you need that panel to be, in accordance with how much they're saying. Usually, if it's a lot of dialogue, you need a bigger panel, if it's little, the panel tends to be smaller. However, comics don't always have to be so 'professional' like that, for lack of better words. I've done comics where I don't even draw the boxes, I just draw my characters and u can kinda differentiate between what's going on just from reading left to right and seeing the dialogue progress so you can still let loose! Don't worry too much about the boxes of each panel fitting too perfectly! Start numbering them in order that they should be read at first and keep doing that until you feel that the numbers aren't necessary to know what order to read! Hope I helped in anyway!
