Descriptivism all the way. Prescriptivism both limits and stunts the growth of English, as it presumes that there is once "correct" English. Varieties such as AAVE (African-American Vernacular English) are dying, as children and adolescents are being taught in schools not to talk "like that". This then leads to a variety of add-on effects, including systemic racism. Basically, prescriptivism = v. v. bad.

The formation of various English creoles such as Singlish, Manglish and Hong Kong English already demonstrate the ease by which English can combine with other languages, however it is uncertain whether English will ever fully break apart into indistinguishable languages. As the English creoles are generally mutually intelligible by region (eg. most Asian creoles are fairly similar), they cannot be classified as actual distinct languages. The wide proliferation of English as a lingua franca between cultures, especially in areas of politics and business, suggests that English will never die; however, this does not mean that English will never form daughter languages. Very much so. Kind reminder that some people are aromantic and/or a*exual and don't actually experience romantic/*exual attraction, so please don't say things like "well, you must have had a crush on someone!", because they may not have :)
