What's your opinion on people who aren't happy with their gender and wish to be the opposite gender to the one which they were assigned at birth? And in your mind how would you encourage said people to tell their friends and family about it?
i'm not going to sit here and pretend i know a lot about the gender spectrum and that i'm the best person to ask about this because i'm not, but as far as encouraging them to tell their friends and family about the gender (if any) they identify with i definitely think you need to first of all make sure that it is safe for you to come out because as much as it is important to be true to yourself, your safety is number one priority. if you are sure or mostly sure that it would be safe to come out as your gender (or lack thereof) i think it's really important to remember that they may not understand. Tyler Oakley said something that i thought was really important in relation to coming out either with your gender or *exuality, he said that you have had x amount of time to come to terms with who you are and come to understand it yourself, and sometimes you need to be patient with your friends and family because they may not understand what trans-gender or gender-fluid means. it's not that they love you any less or are unsupportive of you, they just simply don't have the education in the matter. so sit down and be patient and educate them. it may take them a while to fully understand and come to terms with it, but just remember to be patient and that you should be really proud of yourself for taking this step because it isn't easy. also remember that you are loved and that the view of one or two of your "friends or family" members that aren't willing to be educated no way reflect who you are. xx

Okay, being confident and loving yourself is different to not caring about anyone else BUT yourself. I think loving yourself is so important and I think it's really stupid that it's seen in such a negative light because quite frankly, Ive gone through the self-hate just like everyone else has and I can promise you that everything is so much easier when you let yourself be comfortable in your own skin.
