yes i did! i kept my grades up all year... i wasn't getting the highest in my class but I was up there with them. It's a ranking so try to keep on top of your work. I'm telling u, practice essays was what my life was ac***ulated by! You need to do it!! I really cant remember my marks but I did pretty well for Brooklyn, language analysis and oral. Context was crap... didn't do too well but not too bad either you feel? hahah sorry I s*ck :( but again, it's the exam :) Don't worry! you got this!! Work hard!

Message me privately and I'll let you know! :) Hahaha, I wasn't always motivated... but if you read the pervious question I answered just now, it should have everything about my year 12 experience there. TIPS: 1. Practice, practice and practice. English SAC/ any SACs really do contribute to your final study score. However don't let the marks you get in SACs bring you down because EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING is dependent on your exams.Try your best! They do matter, but not to the extent where it could severely damage your study score. 2. Get the bigger picture: this means try understand what your teacher is asking you to write and then wrap your head around how YOU would write it. Think outside of the box and try to create your own style of writing! They want to hear your voice in your writing and to do that well you need to practice! I KNOW YOU'RE NERVOUS!! but everyone is! The first one is always the hardest but when it's time for your 2nd or 3rd SAC, you'll just want to get it done and over with! I promise you everything will be fine! (IF YOU WANT MORE TIPS IM SURE I ANSWERED THIS QUESTION SOMEWHERE HERE A LONG TIME AGO! SCROLL DOWN :) )

How did you manage and maintain your way throughout year 12 and how much did you study? Because I want to do arts at Monash and need to get an 85....(shoot myself) Btw congrats for getting into your course! :)
I'm so sorry for the late reply sweetie boo boo!! Oh gosh... where do I even start with this question?! Firstly, Arts at Monash is so good right now! I love all my subjects (Medieval Europe, Ancient Cultures, Human Rights and Criminology). If you love history like I do, the history subjects that they offer are beyond amazing so I deffs recommend it!!!!! YAS COME STUDY WITH ME (and you don't need 85 cause SEAS) How I managed everything year 12 is a tough one. As you may know I was SRC leader, in J&D, in the Production (omg i miss acting so much) and I was working at the same time.... I think for me, I made it because of my extra curricular activities. They were never a burden but something I looked forward to every week. It gave me purpose. It gave me more than just the stress of workload in year 12! Something fun and something to look ahead to instead of just exams and ATAR (Which is just a number and does not define you... if anything I believe it's very stupid) I did work at Gloria Jeans in year 12, however it was just a stress reliever and I worked only once every 2 weeks to get some sort of pocket money... Secondly, what really really really helped me was the subjects I chose. I loved every single one of them! I study with passion and love for learning (im not joking. Never stop educating yourself. It's the only thing no one can take away from you!) Just embrace everything you get in year 12. I miss it heaps!! English (is life), Psych (was love), Revs/History (is why I live) and Texts and Traditions (opened my mind to a whole another aspect of life) and with maths.... I guess you could say at least I sorta tried? ahahha To be honest with you... I did work very hard during the period leading up to exams. Many practice exams and just heaps and heaps of essays and learning content! It's very important that you try to study well before exams but it's so much more important to look after your health and your body! I'd like to say that I didn't burn out or lose motivation throughout the year but that would be lying... There were days were I was emotionally drained and genuinely too exhausted to move... so ill because of the stress of everything. I CRIED HEAPS AND HEAPS BUT THAT'S OKAY BECAUSE YEAR 12 IS STRESSFUL AND YOU'RE ALLOWED TO CRY. But throughout the year, I did try to keep my grade up as high as possible. I think it'll be fair to say that I averaged B+ and A's. Basically study to your own accord. Don't let anyone force you. I did homework usually on Sundays and sunday nights and sometimes on weekdays but very rarely.. only the night before a SAC which is horrible (DONT DO THAT) hahhaha. I love learning and I believe you should always keep an open mind! I'm very passionate about everything I do and I encourage you to allow yourself to fall in love with something that will keep you alive!! Thanks so much for congratulating me! It means a lot :) ALSO SORRY IT WAS SO LONG! I JUST WANTED TO DO YOUR QUESTION JUSTICE CAUSE IT'S A BIG DEAL! GOOD LUCK SWEETIE! how can you improve in English?
Wow. I feel quite honoured that you have asked me this. It happens to be that the English language is something I am aspiring to perhaps not master, but to have a strong understanding of. To be honest with you, I improved the way I write and speak by simply watching shows with people who have English/British accents. It's funny when you've listened for long enough you become immune to their way of speaking, the sophistication and the way in which they structure their sentences. You begin yourself to speak like them. What shows or series I really recommend is the kind of olden day, king and queen era kind of shows (Reign or The Tudors or even Games of Thrones) ((Fav shows right now!!)). However, that is just in terms of the way you speak or choose vocabulary you wish to use in essays or whatever. In terms of English essay writing I think the most crucial factor is the "bigger idea". You can't simply write an essay without all your reasoning linking to the "bigger issue". You sort of need to grasp the idea in which your teachers are directing you in but also think outside the box. I feel like in the classroom we are prone to think the way our teachers want us to think and for me, that isn't effective. I like to understand what my teacher wants but to think about other ways in approaching the prompt. Also, for most my essay I always argue two sides. I never simply agree or disagree with the question. To effectively argue you need to present something that the marker can see that you have considered both sides but ultimately one argument is more logical and stronger than the other. Linking back is important- yes, think of the "bigger picture" but don't stray from the topic. Something like "This further demonstrates how Eilis had gained too much to return back to Brooklyn" will help the examiner understand your position much more clearly. And remember, yes they've read your essay but surely, it's the last sentence that stays the strongest in their minds and in that case, you make sure they have absolutely no doubts about your agreements- no flaws they can pick on making your piece an A+ one! Hat subjects do you take?
I did Bio last year. This year I'm doing Psych, Further, History (Revs), Texts and Traditions and English. Year 11 was interesting. I did Indo, Methods, Legal, Texts, Chem, English and was completing Bio throughout the course of the year so I didn't do them all at the same time. It was good in the sense that I could have a taste in all subjects from science to humanities- and thank the Lord that I did what I did because now I love my all subjects- school isn't even a burden!
